How To Save Money When Its Time To Renew Your Green Flag Vehicle Breakdown Cover

It’s a sad fact the loyalty does not pay these days, so I’m geared up to brace myself whenever any contract comes up for renewal.

Here in the UK, I buy my vehicle breakdown cover from Green Flag, because they tend to be cheaper than the two largest companies in the UK: the AA and the RAC. But just because they’re cheaper, I don’t rest on my laurels.

Every year, it’s the same old rigmarole.

They send me my renewal. The increase in premium is substantial. I go online to see if I can get a better quote (from them). I do. Then I have to phone up and get them to match it.

Of course, my time costs money, but when the premium increases are substantial, it’s still usually time well spent.

Here’s the renewal quote. You’ll see that last year I paid a premium of £61.60, and this year they wanted to increase my premium to £96.32 — a whopping 59.25% increase.
